Design & Color

At FauxReal Surfaces we offer unique ideas and creative solutions to fill our customers needs.  The challenge to meet our customers needs and exceed their expectations provides us the opportunity to rise to the challenge, and give us a means by which to expose our talents.  We strive to offer classic as well as unique and custom design and color possibilities to better capture our customer’s vision.

Our installation system allows for nearly any pattern or design.  Each of our surface options will produce unique, luxurious results.  The biggest challenge is narrowing down the selections to best suit your needs.  We are dedicated to customizing a surface that is perfect for your space, and your needs.

Color

Our surfaces are integrally colored to create the desired tone.  Once the texture is dry the surface is antiqued, then sealed with a clear sealer.  The surface can also be sealed with a pigmented color to create a more uniform appearance.  For the integral color we ask that you pick a sample of the color you like, and we will match it quite closely.  The tinted sealers come in twelve standard colors, but can be customized.

Color Match Staining

We use a variety of unique coloring methods to create nearly limitless options.  Considering our customer’s likes and dislikes and paying attention to the surrounding areas, our Design Specialist helps to construct a color combination designed specifically for our customer and their space.  The coloring process includes a sample board made on location.  We will provide samples from other jobs so we can get an idea of what you like.  Our design consultant will ask you questions to further assess your style and needs.  The sample board acts as a test subject to compare colors.  We then confirm the color selection and any changes to be made.  Our process allows us to show you what can be done with the coloring, and for you to see the color in its space.  This custom approach offers maximum control so you don’t have to spend hours looking for the right color.  We simply create it for you.

Custom/Extended Coloring

We understand that some people require a little more assistance in decideing on a color that others.  It is most important that the customer recieves a end result they are happy with.  We offer additional coloring asistance in several ways: additional sample boards, larger scaled sample board, test coloring, and even complete recoloring.  Please understand we will go to every measure to ensure an end result  the customer  will be proud of.  The added cost varies by method, but is usually out weighed  by the end result.

Taping

Our method of creating realistic grout lines involves a fiber tape or stencils used to mask off areas of the base coat we wish to be exposed.  This method has several advantages.  We can tint our basecoat, so it offers our customer a choice in grout color that will contrast the stone, or blend in.  The surface of the basecoat is similar to that of sanded grout adding to the effect that it is natural.  And because it is sealed with a protective coat the grout resists staining and discoloration.

Scoring

For many applications scoring offers additional design options.  Concrete can be scored in many different ways allowing for intriquate patterns and designs.  Different widths and depths for cuts can provide added demention and detail.  We can combile taping and saw cutting for a wide variation of textures and depth.  The possabilities are truely endless.

Popular Patterns

 Custom Patterns and Designs

Listed are some of the most popular patterns we offer.  There are many variations of these patterns, but we are in no way limited to these patterns.  We find that most people tend to want what they have seen before.  For those that want something a little different we offer a number of unique patterns.  If none of them work we will crate a custom design specifically for our customer.

Groutless Solid Stone

Groutless Stone is pure luxury, emulating a huge slab of stone.  This design opens up a room and creates continuity from one space to another.  This unprecedented surface offers low maintenance, space expansion, custom coloring, and bragging rights.  It can be sealed in a high gloss to resemble polished stone, or a flat sealer to give the look of a raw slab of stone.  The solid look goes well with borders and medallions offering a way to further increase the luxuriousness of your design.

Medallions

Medallions offer a great deal of elegance to a space, and are ideal in entryways, or anywhere you would like to make a focal point.  Most of our medallions are hand taped allowing us to save a considerable amount from traditional medallions.  Some very intricate medallions require a stencil, but most any medallion can be emulated with FauxReal Stone.  We have a selection of medallions we have done in the past, and we encourage customers to find pictures or designs they would like in their medallion.

Borders

Borders are another way to add interest and make your design more unique.  There are several types of borders available and we can make custom designs as well.  A Groutless Stone borders offers great appeal and a look that is hard to duplicate.

Flagstone

We use unique taping methods to create realistic stone shapes along with a grout line that can have variation or be rigid.   Flagstone is one of the most classic patterns.  Our attention to how the stones are formed and laid allows us to better mimic flagstone.

Tile

A square or grid pattern typically associated with tile.  We simulate natural stone tile such as travertine, as we as a rougher textured tile such as slate.  The advantage we offer is larger tiles and stones will not be more expensive than the small ones.  This opens up the design possibilities allowing the customer to achieve a luxurious look previously not attainable.

Random Slate

A Random assortment of square and rectangle stones assembled in no particular order.  Its rustic style is elegant yet informal.  It is ideal for walkways, driveways, patios, anywhere you want a square but informal pattern.

Versailles

This pattern is a more formal version of the random slate, typically seen with natural stone tiles such as slate and travertine.  It starts as a grid usually in 10” 12” or 14” scale.  The pattern is then cut out of the grid leaving tiles in 1:1, 2:1, 2:2, and 2:3 ratios.  The pattern is not a obvious as it is in other designs, but the subtle repetition makes this design feel more formal

45 deg. Angle

Our Tile and Versailles patterns can be turned 45 deg. This changes the look of the pattern and adds another variation if someone wants to make the floor stand out.
